InnovaCare Health Adds Three New Executives – Jonathan Meyers, Penelope Kokkinides, and Mike Sortino – to Leadership Team

Dr. Shinto brings more than 25 years of health care management experience to InnovaCare and has gathered a group of highly knowledgeable professionals to form InnovaCare’s core leadership team.

InnovaCare’s success in the health industry this decade is highly attributed to the expertise and experience of its core leadership team to create health care models that improved health care quality, patient satisfaction, and fiscal performance. This core team is committed to the same principles that have guided InnovaCare Health to great success by creating healthcare models that are affordable, technologically up-to-date, sustainable, and efficient. Now, InnovaCare Health has augmented its leadership team with three more high-performing executives – Jonathan Meyers, Penelope Kokkinides, and Mike Sortino.

Jonathan Meyers joins InnovaCare Health as the Chief Actuary Officer. He brings to InnovaCare extensive experience with Medicare and Medicaid from his previous experience at Horizon BCBS as the Director of Actuarial Services. In addition to his experience as the Director of Actuarial Services, he was the Chief Actuary at HealthCare Partners. He also has extensive knowledge of healthcare benefits for unions, employees, and retirees and specializes in health plan risk management, clinical risk analytics and contracting. Meyers is an Honors Scholar graduate of the University of Connecticut and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Penelope Kokkinides rejoins InnovaCare Health as the Chief Administrative Officer. Previously, she served as InnovaCare’s Chief Operating Officer. Kokkinides has over 20 years of health care experience and specializes in governmental programs such as Medicare and Medicaid within the managed care industry. Kokkinides believes in keeping technology up to date within the medical field and highlights InnovaCare’s up-to-date models as keys to success. Kokkinides received a master’s degree in public health from the Columbia University School of Public Health.

Mike Sortino joins InnovaCare as the Chief Accounting Officer. He has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry in addition to over five years in public accounting. Prior to joining InnovaCare, Sortino served as Chief Financial Officer at Houston Casualty Company and Controller of Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Co. Sortino received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Vermont and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Together, this team can combine their extensive knowledge and expertise to develop health care programs, models, processes, and operations while improving the efficiency of organizational infrastructures.
